Framed Giclée
A Square Foot of Fauna Series
I spent my early days in the Valley of Texas, and each winter I would hear adults commenting on the arrival of the "Snowbirds." It usually centered around the slow speed of their driving habits. Oddly enough, these "Snowbirds" are the fastest flying birds in the world. Recently, 2 Peregrine Falcons migrated to Downtown San Antonio for the Winter. While this species mates for life, the female and male visitors are not mates. They later were reported to have made it safely back to their separate homes in Canada and Minnesota. How do you think this came to pass? Did they agree with their mates that they would all go visit family for the Winter and meet back up in the Spring? So curious. In case you were wondering, the male's name is Triumph and the female's, Radisson.
