I've been fortunate to live in cities that had wonderful rescue zoos. As a young child, my mom would take me to the Brownsville Porter Zoo. I remember the awe and wonder I felt observing and soaking in all the nuances of the animals - each curve and color so defining and unique. Later, I lived near the San Diego and Phoenix Zoos. I would spend hours photographing and then reviewing each individual animal. Always such a fondness for animals, I believe they hold such a vault of wisdom for the human. If you are ever near the Austin Rescue and Rehabilitation Zoo or the San Antonio Zoo you should definitely spend some time visiting. When asked what my favorite animal is, I'm always stumped. I'd have to say, my favorite is the one I visiting with at the moment.
