A Square Foot of Fauna Series
The fastest flying birds in the world come to "Winter" in San Antonio, Texas. I spotted one in the greenbelt behind my home and later found out that 2 Peregrine Falcons had migrated to Downtown San Antonio for the Winter. One comes from Canada and the other from Minnesota. Interesting to note that while these birds mate for life, the 2 visitors are not mates. They were later reported to have made it back to their respective homes between March and May.
